Animator Question...

Animator Question...

Animator Question...

(OP)
Is it common for Animator to choke on multiple sequences in a schedule?

I have an assembly and am able to animate a screw turning.

I am also able to separately animate some mated components traversing up and down.

BUT when I try to do both at the same time, the mated components sort of explode (odd components do, anyway) even though that was NOT scripted, and the motion does not occur in the sequence desired.  For instance, the screw will turn CCW on its central axis for the desired 10 seconds, but the assembly will not traverse during the entire 10 second animation - it will just jump to its final position with some of the components in different location (not in their original mated positions) at the end of 10 seconds.

Is this a graphics card problem?

It seems that with any test assy I do, more than one (sometimes 2 will work ok) sequence in the schedule will cause unsightly anomalies.

RE: Animator Question...

I've had that sort of thing happen myself.  Animator is glitchy.  Hope comes in SW 2005 where Animator has had quite the overhaul.  Perhaps the problems will be fixed with the new user interface and other enhancements.

Meanwhile, you're probably hosed.

RE: Animator Question...

It appears that the problem I had was the fact that I used a pesky Limit mate.  Animator does not like those, I guess...

Eliminating that mate fixed the errors in the assembly in question, but I haven't tried any others...
