Online calibration

Online calibration

Online calibration

(OP)
Hi All,
We have a  78 % H2SO4 storage tank  whose Level transmitter is  not working. (DP type). we  are not able to isolate  the valve  so that we can calibrate the  LT.We have  sufficient quantity of acid  inside which we dont want to drain. Is there  any way to solve this problem or  calibrate  the  LT?
thanx

RE: Online calibration

use a dip stick to gage the tank (most common) or use a temporary bubbler with calibrated transmitter (most reliable and accurrate).

RE: Online calibration

Is this transmitter a Smart type DP transmitter?

RE: Online calibration

If the xmitter failed and you don't want/can't replace it
you may be able to add a second level or pressure sensor and juct replace the output.

How much accuracy do you need? can you access the tank
and the acid without draining?

HI  all,
it's  not smart type  transmitter.I  dont want much accuracy  and  moreover  i  cant isolate the  LT  without draining.
i  think i should  go  for  the Age-Old Dip stick method.

thnx

RE: Online calibration

If you can insert a dip-stick, you can make an opto- or
capacitive sensor, too. If you could send me the measurements of the tank and quantify "not much accuracy"
I could help more...

RE: Online calibration

sticking the tank never fails and comes calibrated from the factory! Certification results are extra of course.
