holes in design table

holes in design table

(OP)
I have a sheet metal with four holes equally spaced for one configuration and six holes for another configuration.  Behind this sheet metal, there is another part with the same number of holes of a different diameter for which I used "convert entities" to have the holes at the same position as the first sheet metal.  I would like to know how to make a design table so that the number of holes of the second sheet metal changes with the first one.  Thank you.

RE: holes in design table

You will have to incontext the geometry from one part to another. A DT will not accomplish this.

Look up incontext in the help if you do not know what this is. There is also on example at my site as well

RE: holes in design table

Rollerblades,

A design table at the assembly level will work if it drives a sketch at the assembly level.

Having created and controlled the assembly level sketch, you parametrically attach your fabricated parts to it.

I do not know you are going to switch from four to six holes.  I created a variable height 19" rack panel by moving unneeded slots off the top of the panel.  I do not think the hole wizard allows this.
