Cosmos Question

Cosmos Question

Cosmos Question

(OP)
Does anyone know if parts can be preloaded in cosmos.  I want to simulate stretch bolts.  Can Cosmos due this, or due I need to change the modulus of elasticity to simulate this?

RE: Cosmos Question

You can put an initial displacement on a component, which could be equivalent to a pre-load depending on how you constrain it.

RE: Cosmos Question

R1100S,

There are a few discussion topics in these forums relating to this problem.

Thread559-86683

(sorry not sure how to properly link threads - but if you search under solidworks forum "Cosmos Bolts" the thread will turn up - unintentional pun by the way)

RE: Cosmos Question
