Can a leader point to multiple entities?

Can a leader point to multiple entities?

Can a leader point to multiple entities?

(OP)
I have a leader which is dimensioning a radius on a part.  There are a few of the same radii on the part.  Is it possible to have one dimension point to multiple radii?

Thanks

RE: Can a leader point to multiple entities?

Hold down Ctrl key, drag tip of arrow to new location.

I was trying that but I couldn't get it to work.  It will work with notes that I have added, but not dimensions.  When I try it with dimensions (all the same value), I get a circle with a line through it telling me I can't do that.

RE: Can a leader point to multiple entities?

No, you can't do that.

One option:
•Make a single radius dimension
•Make a custom property that references the radius dimension
•Make a note that shows the cutom property.  Notes can have multiple leaders.
•If desired, hide the original dimension by placing it on a non-visible layer.

An alternative is to create the custom property in the part and reference the part property in the drawing.  I do this with chamfer notes.

RE: Can a leader point to multiple entities?

It won't work with dimensions.  Standard convention is to use 2X, 4X, etc for multiple instances of the same size.

Ctrl-Drag the end point does work with Notes and Weld Symbols however.

RE: Can a leader point to multiple entities?

oops, sorry. I miss-read, still trying to wake up ... rough morning. MadMango and TheTick are 100% correct.

RE: Can a leader point to multiple entities?

A method similar to Tick's, but without using custom properties:

1.  Add your radius dimension to the drawing.
2.  Add a note.  When prompted for the note text, select the radius dimension.
3.  Hide the original dimemsion.

You will probably need to add the "R" in front of the value in the note manually, but the note will be linked to the actual dim.
