Drawing Dimension Question

Drawing Dimension Question

Drawing Dimension Question

(OP)
Hello All,

I'm not sure this is the right forum to ask this question, and if not, my apologies.

I have an outline General Arrangement drawing of a large electric motor that is manufactured in South Africa. I do not know how to properly interpret the shaft dimensions. The shaft diameter is noted on the drawing like this....
"225,046-0,029"

The coupling bore is noted on the drawing like this...
"224,967+0,046"

Other than knowing that all dims are in millimeters, can someone clue me in on how to read these dimensions?

Thanks,

RE: Drawing Dimension Question

it seems logic that shaft nominal dimension is 225,046 (note that in europe number 1.005,025 is 1,005.025 in USA)with a negative tolerance of 0,029 mm (0.029 mm in USA)and bore has a positive tolerance of 0,046 mm. Therefore, minimun space with less desirable tolerance is 0,004 mm
