Bottom Drive Agitator Seal

Bottom Drive Agitator Seal

Bottom Drive Agitator Seal

(OP)
I am looking for manufacture's name who manufactures Mechanical seal for Bottom drive agitator.
Thanks,

RE: Bottom Drive Agitator Seal

Is the agitator to be bought from an agitator vendor?  If so, talk to your vendor.

Is the agitator "home made".  If so, I'd recommend John Crane, but here's a link for more mechanical seal vendors:

You'll have to find the ones that make seals for agitators.

Good luck,
Latexman

RE: Bottom Drive Agitator Seal

As I recall, Chesterton has a mechanical seal design specifically configured for agitators (mixers).

The seal design allows for a much larger axial movement  and more start-stop cycles than would be allowed for a mechanical seal on a pump.

try:

As a common courtesy, let us know what your final decision is and how you reached it.....

RE: Bottom Drive Agitator Seal

Here is website of a company we used for our bottom entering agitators.  These people are not inexpensive but they know what they are doing.

http://www.burgmann.com/

Can you come back with a few more details like shaft size, horsepower, pressure and temperature.

RE: Bottom Drive Agitator Seal

Any one of the major seal mfgs should be able to handle this-  floswerve, john crane, burgmann or chesterton as mentioned above....=

RE: Bottom Drive Agitator Seal

We have used seals made of teflon and nylon. Nylon is much more cheaper. I'm not sure are talking about same system, our agitator is up in the tank roof and agitator shaft is in this seal at the bottom.
We just buy a nylon bar and turner will do the rest.
