NUM 720 F Controller

NUM 720 F Controller

NUM 720 F Controller

(OP)
Hi, I hope somebody can help me, I have one glass-cutting table controlled by a NUM 720 F numeric controller, the controller sends this message:
PARAMETER TABLE
CHECKSUM ERROR
How can I correct this? is there any technical informations about this controller?

RE: NUM 720 F Controller

It sounds like a batery fault has corrupt memory. You'll have to check the controller parameters but I don't know "NUM 720 F". Where it comes from? Fanuc?... It looks like a model from ?

Thanks, Pascual, this one is manufactured by NUM (Telemecanique), is there a way to correct the problem?

RE: NUM 720 F Controller

Sorry, but I do not know the controller. I think you'll have to call Telemecanique of search in their web.

RE: NUM 720 F Controller

The battery (soldered to the circuit board that is directly behind the keyboard (or pad)) has most likely expired. Expose that board and note the part number of the small cylindrical battery (which should be either blue or green). It is most likely a VARTA 2/30 DK 2.4V. A replacement can be ordered from Num.

RE: NUM 720 F Controller

Now that I've had some time to think about it, I want to say that when I encountered the CHECKSUM message it gave you a Y/N option. If this is the case with your controller, you should be able to get your screen back by pressing "Y". The system should thereafter be fully operational, and should remain so, until you decide to shut off the power at the main panel.

For spare parts (like the Varta battery), contact Tom Vassik @ Num Corporation in Naperville, ILL. Telephone: 630-505-7722 (ext 235). He can transfer you to the tech support department if the CHECKSUM issue continues to be problematic.
