Solid Element Isomesh
Solid Element Isomesh
(OP)
Hi,
I'm trying to create an isomesh element for a solid which is irregularly shaped. However, there is always the error message saying the solid is not isoparametric, therefore unable to mesh using isomesh.
1) Would like to know how to get an isoparametric object from an irregular shaped solid. The reason why i want to use isomesh is because i want to have a wedge element.
2) Another qn, is that i understand, solid element does not undertake moment forces, so how do i go abt simulating a moment force when i have solid elements?
Regards.

RE: Solid Element Isomesh
Patran seems to have problems with imported geometry as you are seeing. I ran in to this problem a while ago and was able to create 0 offset surfaces off of the solid geometry and close it into a volume. If it is easy to remake some of the surfaces in Patran that could help.
