Selfpriming Pump

Selfpriming Pump

Selfpriming Pump

(OP)
Dear all,
Can you give solution for this requirement :
To Empty the liquid from the drum to the vessel. After the drum is empty, the liquid from discharge hose must be drained by rotating the pump reversely, to make all hose line is empty from liquid. (can star impeller pump rotates reversely?)
I need your expertise here, I appreciate it.
Cheers,
Muwardi

RE: Selfpriming Pump

you do not say what type of pump you are using, if "star impeller pump" is the pump style - please explain what it is.

Thanks Artisi,
It is side channel pump with star impeller design.

RE: Selfpriming Pump

If I read your message correctly, the pump will rotate in the reverse direction once you have completed the pumping operation - because of the flow draining from the discharge pipework back through the pump.  -- If this a correct understanding of your question, allowing the pump to run in the reverse direction from the returning flow will not be a problem.
