Plotting using Bylayers

Plotting using Bylayers

Plotting using Bylayers

(OP)
I'm new to Autocad and layers etc. so I hope this is easily solved.
I have a layout of a plant (lots of Equip) which has been placed in a black layer called "Existing Equipment" to print out in black.
For display purposes the objects of the existing equipment have their own colours within properties.
I have also created a new green layer called "Exits",and another layer, red in colour called "fire Services".
Here's my problem how can I do a colour plot showing the red and green layers in their correct colours while showing the existing equipment in black.
If i can plot by using the colours assigned to the layers i'll be happy.

Thanks in Advance

RE: Plotting using Bylayers

Are any of the existing equipment colors the same as your other layers? ie red or green? If the are not, open the plot style manager (under file) and open the plot style you are using or create a new one. At the top of the properties list to the right you will see "Color." Simply change all of the layers to print black, except for your red & green (I'm assuming you use the standard colors, so colors 1 & 3) to plot "using object color." This should be it.
