Drawing Template (Title Blocks)

Drawing Template (Title Blocks)

Is there a way to dimension the lines in a title block, but have the dimensions NOT visible when not in the "Edit Sheet Format"?

I am trying to define the location of the lines that comprise the areas of the title block.  So far, I have been dimensioning them to get them to the exact location I want them at, then deleting the dimension and applying a "Fix" constraint to the line.  Or I have input the X-Y coordinates of the points then applied a "Fix" constraint.

I am looking for a way to "hide" the dimensions when NOT in the "Edit Sheet Format" mode, similar to the way AutoCAD uses the Defpoints layer...

RE: Drawing Template (Title Blocks)

Create a layer for the title block dimensions.  Place all the title block dimensions on that layer.  Turn the layer off by clicking the light bulb to turn if gray and the dimensions will be hidden.

RE: Drawing Template (Title Blocks)

Just right click the Dimensions and select Hide.  Then if you need to see them again, use the Hide/Show Annotations Button on the Drawing Toolbar.

I like the layering solution - works well with my AutoCAD mindset!

The hide dimension was a tool that I didn't even know was there!

Thanks!

That maybe m60, but you have to remember if your going to use SW, you have to forget AutoCAD. It will only make matters harder for you.

Agreed, but then one will have to call a lot of the SWX'05 features merely 'deja-vu'   ;)
