AISI or ASTM equivalent of BS3100 Bt2 Steel
AISI or ASTM equivalent of BS3100 Bt2 Steel
(OP)
The subject says it all. Can anyone in our group give me the AISI or ASTM equivalent of this British Standard Steel.
I am pretty sure that it was originally a plate steel that was rolled into a cylinder, fabricated into a quarter or half section of a large ring gear, normalized or at least stress relieved, it was probably re-heat treated to achieve an internal hardness of approximately 325 Brinnel and then had helical gear teeth cut into it.
Any help would be greatly appreiciated.
Thanks,

They will have to provide me with more information, obviously.
