3D Sketch in hole wizard

Is there a sure-fire way to NOT get a 3D sketch when creating a hole using the hole wizard?  This seems to be the first sketch created when placing the hole.  The next sketch (the hole's revolved profile) is a normal 2D sketch.

I would prefer a "standard" sketch as it is easier to define.  (I say "standard" even though the 3D sketch seems to be the default).

RE: 3D Sketch in hole wizard

Pick the face or surface first, then pick the Hole wizard. If you don't pick the face or surface first, then that is suppose to happen (3Dsketch hole).
