Make one surface a different color?

Make one surface a different color?

Make one surface a different color?

(OP)
I have a part that I want to make different surfaces different colors. I want an internal surface of a hole cut-out green, and fillets magenta, for instance. Suggestions?
Thanks.

RE: Make one surface a different color?

Cfee,

You can use the part painter tool.  It's under the format menu.  When using the tool, there's a pull down menu that will let you select by the follwing;

Any
Face
Feature
All features of the same type
Body

Using these selection tools you can change the colors of faces.  I frequently use it for aesthetics on parts or things like power supplies where I'll model the entire supply as one part but give different features different colors like PCBs and connectors to help both myself and others who may use the parts later.

RE: Make one surface a different color?

Hi,

I find that the list for Style in the Part Painter Ribbon Bar is empty and I need to add the faces styles into the list.
Unlike in Assembly environment, the list is available by default. (Maybe I'm missing something here.)

To add the Faces Styles;

1. In Part Environment, go to Format > Style...

2. From the Style Dialog Box select Faces Styles.

3. Click the 'Organizer' button.

4. In the Style Organizer Dialog Box, you can add the colors to your preference.

5. Close the Style Organizer dialog box, the Style Dialog box will reappear then click Apply Button.

6. Do as what Kyle had suggested.

HTH

Regards
