Does anyone knows the steps for drawing an Auger Screw for Model showing only NOT for CNC production of any kind.

Please let me know hoe to do it.

Diameter 2.5"
Length 18"
Flights pitch 1"

Probably the easiest way would be to create the shaft first, then a helix which you can drive a Sweep around.  


(After creating the helix create a sketch on the plane that the end of the helix is located on for the profile of the augur thread then the profile of the augur gets Sweep Extruded around the path of the helix).

If you dont want the shaft just draw a cirle on a plane, insert, curve helix (use your pitch and length).  Draw a profile on a perp plane to the first sketch and sweep the profile along the path.

I do want a shaft, I forgot, it must be 1/5 diam. How would I do this can do help a newby here.

Do a search in the Solidworks help for "helix" and "sweep".  The help is your best source for a good example.  If you run into any snags, ask specific questions.

OK - but if you need the mass properties to be correct - you might not get "real" results unless you sweep a surface - not a feature - & then thicken it. I can explain further if this is a concern. Just ask...
