How do I animate textures in solidworks?
How do I animate textures in solidworks?
(OP)
Hello all,
I need a little help in understanding why solidworks animator will not animate the texture I applied to it. Do I have to use Photoworks rendering to see textures in my animation? I would much rather slice my neck open and bleed all over the place before I wait for a photoworks rendered animation. I have applied a thread texture to a computer cable that I had. I rotated the texture to make it look like a series of wires in a ribbon form. I hope some of you follow what I am saying. It is kind of hard to put into words. Anyways any help in rendering this texture that I applied would be a great help to me.

However, if your system supports RealView, you may be able to get the animation to work by applying materials to your model (not in PhotoWorks, but in the materials tab in the feature tree to the left).
Try it and see. If not, don't bleed on the keyboard.

RE: How do I animate textures in solidworks?
I was unable to use RealView due to my video card not supporting it. So I might have to take the long road and render everything in Photoworks. If anyone else has any ideas please let me know. Thanks for the idea though. I might have to try it at home since that video card can produce the RealView graphics.
I decided that bleeding all over the place would be too messy.
