Trying to remove Siemens S5 and replace with S7, controlling Westfalia Seperator. There is an unusual IO card - S5-abp1. Fits into Siemens Series S5-100 backplane. Does anyone know what it does, how to upload it's configuration, what might replace it in the s7 range.

My local Siemens office deny that it is a Siemens part.

RE: Siemens S5 ABP1

Sean,

I cannot find that board in my "vintage" references. I guess that it is a custom made board for Westfalia Separator. Look them up at http://www.westfalia-separator.com and find a rep near you. He should be able to supply you with the information you need.

If it is a Siemens produced board, there should be an "MLFB" number on it and that usually solves all problems regarding documentation and spare parts. Good luck!
