Part, Assembly and Drawing Templates

Part, Assembly and Drawing Templates

Part, Assembly and Drawing Templates

(OP)
Is there a way that I can add a custom template (part/assembly/drawing) to a document to replace its default (old) template?  At early days, my colleages were not familiar with SolidWork part/assembly/drawing template.  So, they created a lot of documents with default templates coming with SolidWorks.  Last year, I proposed template standards for my company, which work very nicely.  Our current templates (part/assembly) are tied to drawing sheet format.  Every time, we drop part or assembly models into a drawing sheet, the drawing title blocks are filled out automatically.  We no longer enter info into title block manually.

But, my problem is that every time I need to revise old drawings, I have to recreate (enter) all the custom properties.

Thanks,

Alex

RE: Part, Assembly and Drawing Templates

There is a macro at the link below that copies solidWorks options and properties from one file to another.  this might help you out.
