Help on wiring a whole house van

(OP)
i just bought a whole house fan and its all set, except for the wiring!!!

the fan(the motor) comes with three wires(black, white, and red)and it also comes with a switch (a black wire coming in and a red and black going out)

im using one of the switches we already have in use so i dont have to mess with the main pannel. could someone give me a hand with this please. thanks a lot

RE: Help on wiring a whole house van

There are 3 wires on the fan for 2 different speeds. If you connect this to a standard wall switch you will only be able to get 1 fan speed. You should be able to tell which wires are used and then just connect the higher fan speed to your standard wall switch.

Suggestion: If you post the nameplate data, there may be a proper documentation available.
