dashed lines appear continuous

(OP)
I have always had problems when trying to use dashed or hidden lines. Sometimes they work great, other times they just show up as solid???????????. I try changing scale, etc, nothing seems to work. Any ideas

RE: dashed lines appear continuous

In model space, you your "dimscale" and "ltscale" must match or be close to you drawing scale. For example:
if your drawing is at 30 scale, then your Dimscale should be 30 and your ltscale will also be set at 30.

RE: dashed lines appear continuous

If LTSCALE does not work, try Format/Linetype and check the box "Use Paper Space Units for Scaling".

I ended up going to layout tab (paper space) selected the viewport - right clicked for properties and set hideplot to "No". lines now appear dashed.

RE: dashed lines appear continuous

Check your PSLTSCALE variable as well

RE: dashed lines appear continuous

FROM 3D GO TO 2D WIREMESH AND YOU WILL SEE DASH, HIDDEN,PHANTOM CENTER LIES AS LONG AS LTSCALE IS SET CORRECTLY TO THE SCALE FACTOR WHEN YOU ARE IN M.S.; AND PSLTSCALE IS SET TO 0 FOLLOWED BY REGEN LINE WHEN YOU ARE IN ONE OF THE LAYOUTS AND THE STATUS BAR IS ON MODEL.
