RE: need help with shp shx sbn sbx dbf files! thnx

Hello s10on20s,
I believe these files were created by either ARCVIEW or ARCMAP software.  Currently, ACAD doesn't recoginize these file formats.  See if you can get map files in either DXF or DXB file format.  If you can't then you might consider some type of raster to vector conversion software to convert these file into a useful format.  Sorry, this post doesn't help - John

This site has some "free" and demo software for the formats you mentioned. Worth checking out...

Hi S10on20s!

I had the same problem, this was our way to manage it:
go to: MAP - tools - import (set files to ESRI Shape) and click okay after locating the files.
Dont be scared if you can“t see them at first - it worked for me anyway!!
ps.: hope you find everything - I translated the menu from german.
good luck! Liv

lohthma is right. However, make sure only the files you want to import are the only ones in that folder. If there are many shape files, the import process will be slow.
To make the process faster, move the files(All arcview ESRI shapefiles .sbn .sbx .dbf .shp .shx) you want to import into a separate folder and then MAP - tools - import.
