Equation for G-force in decanter centrifuge

Equation for G-force in decanter centrifuge

Equation for G-force in decanter centrifuge

(OP)
Dear all,

We are looking for the equation how to calculate the:

1) G_force [Newton] on the bowl wall.
2) Pressure generated by this G_force on the product.

Of course the two equations depend on the rotational speed of the bowl, bowl diamter and product level.

Can you help us?

Many thanks in advance,
CARF

RE: Equation for G-force in decanter centrifuge

CARF,

G_FORCE = {(IDBOWL) x (RPMBOWL)}2 divided by 70414
where ID is in inches and 70414 is a conversion constant.

RPM has very strong effect on G Forces e.g. for 2XG you have to double the ID of bowl keeping RPM constant but if you keep the bowl size same you have to increase RPM by only 41%.
