Will Pro/E & Mechanica run on Apple G5 dual processor?

Will Pro/E & Mechanica run on Apple G5 dual processor?

Will Pro/E & Mechanica run on Apple G5 dual processor?

(OP)
My small company is looking to purchase some new workstations. We use all of PTC products. I have been watching Apple lately and I have noticed that the G5 processor is extremely fast. Apple demonstrated that the G5 out performs Intel on the lastest Dell, HP, etc. My questions is "Will PTC port Wildfile and or all of PTC products to Apple computer?" The OS is very user freely.
I have heard that some have used a PC emulator that runs inside of Mac O's X. They noted it was as fast as High end workstation / PC. I believe it is called Virtual PC. I hope someone from PTC headquarters will read this. We (I'm the owner) like unix and the security that Unix offers. We were big SGI fans until year 2000. Economy took a dump - I lost business and had to down size. Back to Unix - I can't remember when we had a "Bug / viruses" on a unix system(s). I believe the thanks in advance. Texaspete.

RE: Will Pro/E & Mechanica run on Apple G5 dual processor?

PTC is not ported to the G5, but they have ported Wildfire to Linux with no plans to port Mechanica or Intralink.

There is no incentive for Apple to help with the port as they use Unigraphics.

RE: Will Pro/E & Mechanica run on Apple G5 dual processor?

Not too long ago, I spoke with a group of designers from Apple (Ben: Apple uses Pro/E now, not UG... straight from the source... and they seemed to be taking to it well), and they told me that the successful port was accomplished in the span a day... But they still use UNIX... oh so confusing.

I am still keeping my fingers crossed... For now the Mac makes music.
