Hi,

I am trying to measure the area of contact between 2 surfaces ( mechanical desktop). Can anyone help me with the procedure if its at all possible. All does nyone know how to convert a 3D surface into a 3D solid?

Hello popsin:

Normally, you would catch this in the design stage.  MDT provides a way to check for interference with the AMINTERFERE command or check interference from the Analysis cascading menu in the Assembly pull-down menu or pick the Check 3D Interference button on the Assembly Modeling toolbar.  Hope this helps - John
