Can you print the Feature Manager hierarchy?

Can you print the Feature Manager hierarchy?

Can you print the Feature Manager hierarchy?

(OP)
I have to produce multiple parts that don't lend themselves very well to multiple configurations and I'd like to copy the steps I did previously, w/o having to review the existing file.  Can I print the Feature Manager hierarchy or export it to Excel or something?  I guess I could doa print screen, but what a PITA.

RE: Can you print the Feature Manager hierarchy?

You could extract the Feature info with a macro and print it.

RE: Can you print the Feature Manager hierarchy?

Even if you copy the Feature Tree, you still won't get any useful information related to the file, just a list of icons and names.

If you can't use or don't want to use configurations, why can't you just do a Save As Copy on parts to create a new part and edit the existing geometry to what you need?

Perhaps I am not understanding your question.

I have to make a gut feel choice....is it more time consuming to start fresh, or save as and re-work?  As far back in the Feature Manager as I am going with create a whole host of errors, which seems to be counter-productive.  Normally I would do the save as, but with mold tools (cavity parts), it gets ugly quick.

I could make notes for each item if I print out the feature manager tree.  Not the most hi-tech method, but workable.  I'll probably just be better off leaving the other file open and jumping back and forth.  It isn't an assembly, but a fairly larger file none-the-less.  All this with Xeon 2Ghz and 1G RAM.....

RE: Can you print the Feature Manager hierarchy?

If you want to remodel your part, maube it could be handy to rollback to the first feature, change it the way to want it to be changed and roll over to the next feature and correct that one. This way you wont get irritated by errors in your part wich are not yet relevant. just correct then one by one and you'll see you will change the part faster then to start over with scratch...
