Hydrostatic Drive vs Aux Engine

Hydrostatic Drive vs Aux Engine

(OP)
Anyone know the benefits to using a hydrostatic drive over just an auxillary engine.

I'm updating a vacuum truck and am thinking about using a hyrdostatic drive instead of an auxillary engine, so any poblems that are commonly found would be good to know as well.

Thanks

RE: Hydrostatic Drive vs Aux Engine

If properly designed hydrostatic drive can work excellent. If poorly designed they can be an expensive nightmare. To make sure the project is successful you must know what the actual torque requirements and rpm range of the drive are. This can be difficult. Spending the time to obtain correct numbers is money well spent.
