Tc through pond

Tc through pond

Tc through pond

(OP)
I am trying to calculate a time of concentration through an existing pond. In the past I was told to consider the pond as a paved surface. Does anyone know of a standard way to calculate this, or if there is software to help?

Thanks!

ye olde TR-55 and TR-20

I was using TR-55 already.

RE: Tc through pond

Tc through an existing pond would certainly not be equivalent to a paved area.

The runoff would have to routed into the pond, with its baseflow accounted for (volume = 0 at water surface) through its outlet.  Its peak outflow is added to the peak of all bypasses.

RE: Tc through pond

Typically I take the Tc at the inlet of the pond then storage route the flow through the basin.
