Water meter materials

I hope you guys can help me out here. You seem to have some pretty informed discussions on water meters.

There are three fundamental types of doemstic water meter in the small sizes;
[il square]
  • inferential single jet and multijet
  • nutating disc (most common in the USA)
  • rotary piston (most common in the UK and northern Europe)
  • [/ul]

    In modern meters the chamber conponents are most often plastic.

    What I want to know is not what plastic are approved for doemstic water meter duties, as these will be listed, but if the type of plastic or composition (loading etc) used for nutating disc meters is different from that used for rotary piston meters due to the different mold stresses these plastics undergo in manufacture as a result of their very different geometries.

    Any ideas?
