I just insatlled AutoCAD 2004, Desktop 2004 and Inventor 7. All my keyboard accelerators work in Desktop, but when I am in AutoCAD only some of them work. For example Ctrl+s (save) Ctrl+p (plot) do not work in AutoCAD, but work in Desktop. I have tried both settings for windows standard accelerator keys under options, still no luck

Any ideas????

Thanks, Pete

RE: accelerator keys

Hello Coda101,
You need to check Windows standard accelerator keys check box in the Windows Standard Behavior area of the User Preferences tab in the Options dialog box is checked.  You can also define your own custom accelerator keys for menu items.  The accelerator key definitions are located in the ***ACCELERATORS section of the menu file.  The TOOLBAR entry found in some of the definitions is used to restrict the search for ID name tag to the toolbars section of the menu file.  I'm not sure what POP menu is the accelerators are located but use the MENULOAD command.  Hope this helps -John

John,
Thanks for the tip, it pointed me in the right direction. I fixed the problem by "creating shortcut keys" under keyboard customization. I am still mystified as to why the default setting got bounced in AutoCAD and not Mech Desktop but I now have the shorcuts I use back, so all is good.

Thanks Again, Pete (coda 101)
