Reduce Model Size

Reduce Model Size

(OP)
Is there a way to "clean up" a model in Solidworks 2004 to reduce file size? I've been working of a couple of plastic models that were bought in as STEPped imported bodies and have grown to 40-50 meg files (they started as 6-10 meg). Seems to me that there must be a bunch of junk that I should be able to get rid of. Being a former UG operator, I don't know how to do it in Solidworks.

Thanks - Dave

Also run a search at www.google.com under the comp.cad.solidworks forum.

If the model is not solid they tend to be larger, until you get them to a solid.
