Autocad 2005 Electrical

(OP)
Hi, hope someone can help? I've just gone from Acad 2000 LT upto 2005 Electrical, and i'm trying to change the Symbol Library default.  When i was installing it asked which Symbol set i would prefer to use, so i selected IEC.  When i completed install, and ran it, the default set was JIC American.

Any ideas on how to change this?

Thank you.

Rob.

RE: Autocad 2005 Electrical

I don't know if this will help but in AutoCAD Mechanical, we choose the standard at ASSIST>>Mechanical_Options pulldown. Is this similar?

RE: Autocad 2005 Electrical

This may or may not fix the problem... make sure that you have the "IEC" icon menu selected in addition to the IEC2 or IEC4 symbol library.

To check the menu, select the "Symbol LIB" button on your project dialog (lower left-hand corner). On the next dialog make sure that the "Icon menu file:"

edit box shows iec_menu.dat (for AcadE 2004)
or
ace_iec_menu.dat (for AcadE 2005).
