Terminating the Board of Registration for PE's
Terminating the Board of Registration for PE's
(OP)
Here in CA, Arnold is proposing the elimination of many appointed boards and commissions, including the Board of Registration for Professional Engineers (see http://www.sacbee.com/content/politics/story/10198768p-11119354c.html).
The article implies that this function would be taken over by another entity. I'm wondering if this would signal an end to "self-policing" and what it would mean for the ease/difficulty of gaining licensure.
I also wonder what this might mean in terms of industry exemption here in the Golden State.

This works well.
Remember it is the hallmark of a true profession that the profession govern itself.
