If you have chevron brace beams with bending & axial load, would you limit maximum beam-column kl/r to 200 or greater than 200 using equation E2-2?

By no chance you can use kL/r greater than 200 for a beam-column, even for bracing in compression.

The vertical support at middle doesn't change the lateral unsupported length of the beam.

The slenderness should not exceed 200. I generally brace the beam at the top and bottom flange at the apex of the chevron.
