Concrete tanks
Concrete tanks
(OP)
I have a Question about multicells concrete tanks.
I found a methodology to calculate the moments in the walls,(PCA Rectangular concrete tanks). But the examples are only with cells that have the same size.
Can I use this procedure in tanks with different size cells??

RE: Concrete tanks
If I am reading your post correctly then you are designing a tank of cells with different sizes. If the methodology only takes account of cells of the same size then you cannot use this procedure. Moments may be over or worse underestimated.
Think of your slab wall as a beam consisting of supports at wall/partition intersections. The location of the supports, i.e. size of the cell, dictate to a large extent the moments in the wall.
Conservatively, use the "same cell size example" using your largest cell size as the cell size.
