How do I set the Software OpenGL option in SW and turn the Hardware Acceleration to "None"? by SBaugh
Posted: 12 Nov 04 (Edited 18 Nov 05)

Have you checked to see if you Video card is listed as a certified Card http://www.solidworks.com/pages/services/videocardtesting.html
Whether it is or isn't this tip will help you determine if the problem is your video card or the drivers, whether you have a certifed card or not.

How do I set the Software OpenGL option in SW?

1) Start SW.
2) Go to - Tools\Options\System Options\Performance - Software OpenGL is located at the bottom of the menu

NOTE: You must NOT have ANY files open. This will grey out the option and it will be unpickable.

If you have no files open and this option is still greyed out. Then the problem is with your video card. It doesn't not Support OpenGL with SW.

How do I Turn Hardware Acceleration down to "None"?

RMB your Desktop\Properties\Settings (Tab)\Advanced\Troubleshoot (Tab) - Pull the slider down to "None"
